Board
A.C Permanent
Distribution Board
Main lighting board with enough capacity and
25% spare equipped feeder shall be
provided, C.B selected to be
adequate for the load including the 25% spare feeder. It shall be
flush/semi flush-mounted in the A.C room/control room. This board shall feed sub
–distribution boards located at different areas for local control of the lighting.
L.V. sub-distribution boards with rated
insulation level 1000 V. it shall be flush mounted metal-clad assembly
enclosure design with thickness not less than 1.5mm with lockable front door
and in accordance with IEC 439 with a degree of protection IP54, the board shall
be provided with a copper busbar and circuit breakers with the required rated
current, breaking capacities, and also provided with indication lamps.The
main circuit breaker shall be provided with earth leakage relay to initiate a
sound alarm and visual signal on the board. Separate neutral and also separate
protective earthing busbar with the same cross-section of the phase busbar, the
neutral busbar shall be isolated from the enclosure of the board but shall be
connected to protective earth with one link in the board only the protective
earthing wire shall be connected to the main grounding system. Only one the conductor may be connected to one terminal, adequate space on the board for the
connection of cables shall be provided.
Fixtures
Component of Fixtures
Component of Fluorescent Fixtures :
- Tubular
Fluorescent Lamps :
Tubular fluorescent lamps shall comply with
IEC 60081 & its rate is (40 watt)
- Ballast :
Ballast for fluorescent lamp shall comply with
IEC 60921, it shall be metal enclosed with a protection code IP20, and the coil
shall be cast-resin impregnated (electronic ballast).
- Starter :
Starters for fluorescent lamp shall comply with
IEC 60155 .starter shall be provided in a plastic enclosure and it shall be for
an ignition temperature range from -20° to +80°.
- Capacitors :
Capacitor shall comply with IEC 61048,61049 it
shall be installed for a fluorescent lamp for power factor correction to
approximately (0.95 to 1.0) the capacitor shall be provided in an Aluminum
enclosure
.
Conduits & Conduit Fittings
PVC conduits, its accessories (Embedded Wiring
System)
- The PVC
conduits shall be rigid, the conduits and conduit fittings shall be so designed
and manufactured that they ensure reliable mechanical protection to the cables
contained therein, and shall withstand both stresses and high temperature (up to 85°C) liable to occur during transport, storage, and installation. The material
shall not soften or suffer any structural degradation at a high temperature of up to 85°C
.
- The PVC
conduits and conduit fittings shall be suitably marked and identified by
the
manufacturer.
All markings shall be easily legible and shall
include the nominal sizes. The inside and outside surface of conduits shall be
smooth and free from burrs, flash, and similar defects.
- The
percentage conduit fill shall not exceed 40% of the conduit cross-section area.
Molded Plastic Outlet Boxes :
- Boxes and
covers used with PVC conduit system are to be heavy gauge pressure molded
plastic, minimum 2mm thickness.
Self-extinguishing, with softening point not less than 85°deg.
- Pull &
junction boxes shall be suitable for use in conjunction with the selected
raceway systems. Boxes in wet location and boxes installed outside shall be
jacketed
.
Plastic Plates :
Heavy gauge, break-resistant, pressure molded
plastic, white or ivory color.
Wires & Cables
General :
- Wires and
cables shall be fabricated of the solid or stranded copper conductor in accordance with IEC 60228.
Light circuits shall be wired in not less than
3mm² cables and power circuits shall be wired in not less than 4mm² cables.
- Different
circuits for power sockets in the same room shall be fed from the same phase
for safety provision.
- The
insulation of all wires and cables shall be rated for at least 85 deg °C for
polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and 105 deg°C for thermoplastic. Polyethylene (PE)
cables
.
- The
identification by color in multicore wires and cables shall comply
with IEC 60446.
Wires :
Wires :
- Wires are single-core insulated multicore insulated and sheathed
conductors which are used only for light-duty indoor applications. The
conductor insulation and the sheath shall be polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and shall
be rated for 0.6/1 k.V, and shall comply with IEC 60189.
Cables :
- Cables for power and lighting for indoor use shall be unarmoured with a
separate earth conductor. For outdoor installation, armored cables laid on
cable trays, and in case of road crossing steel pipes shall be used.
- The conductor insulation and the sheath shall be polyvinyl chloride
(PVC), shall be rated at least for 0.6/1k.V, and shall comply with IEC 60227.
Identification of conductors by
colors
The preferred color scheme to be
used to identify the cores of a flexible cable or cord is:
a) Three-core cable or card: either green or
yellow, light blue, black or light blue, black, brown.
b) Four or five cores cable or cord:
Either green/yellow, light blue,
black, brown, and for the fifth core, black or brown.
Earthlings
- Neutral and protective earthing busbars shall be connected directly to
the earthing grid.
- A separate protective earthing conductor shall run along with all feeders and
where all frames of apparatus and junction boxes shall be connected to.
This conductor shall be insulated
by yellow-green colored PVC or it shall be marked in all connection points by
yellow-green tape.
- All installation shall be connected to the main earth grid system.
- Unless the otherwise mentioned earthing system is the contractor's
responsibility to be as per standard specification.
Cable Trays
- All component, accessories, and supports shall be made of hot-dip-
galvanized steel, bordering shall be edge protection. All cable trays shall be
earthed with a copper conductor.
- All cables shall be laid in only one layer & it should be supported
with special ribbons.
- Space factor doesn't exceed 50%
i.e. the C.S.A for cables does not exceed 50% from the cable tray
section
.
- Distance between each two cables shall be not less than twice the diameter for the biggest one for cable 3* .
- The minimum load capacity shall be :-
200mm - 150 kg/m
300mm - 175 kg/m
400mm - 200 kg/m
500mm - 220 kg/m
600mm - 240 kg/m
- The regular supporting distance shall be 1500 mm .
Circuit Breakers
-It shall be provided with thermal and magnetic
overcurrent tripping devices.
- Each circuit breaker shall have
an interrupting capacity higher than the maximum available short circuit
current at the supply terminal & shall be in accordance with IEC 60947-2.
-All C.B's shall be in accordance with IEC
60947-2
.
-Main circuit breakers shall be provided with
earth leakage protection and it shall be provided with remote signal contact
for circuits of control, signal, measuring, and protection.
MARKING
Rating plates, labels, and other markings shall be clear and indelible. The rating plate shall be made of
stainless steel and shall have the order number and the year of manufacture in
both Arabic and English.
TESTING AND INSPECTION
- Testing
General
All panel and distribution boards
shall be tested at the supplier’s expense in accordance with the latest edition
of the referenced standards. Following completion of the tests, two certified
copies of the test report shall submit to the purchaser for approval. No
equipment shall be supplied until the test reports have been approved by the
purchaser.
Validity of Test Certificates
Test certificates are considered
valid if the tests have been carried out within the last five years on
equipment similar to that on offer using the test methods outlined in this
specifications.
Location of Tests
Routine tests shall be carried at
the supplier’s factory.
Type tests shall be carried out at
an approved independent testing laboratory or at the supplier’s factory and be
witnessed by a representative of an approved independent test laboratory or
other representative acceptance to the purchaser.
- Inspection
The purchaser may wish to witness a test or to visit the factory during the manufacture of any or all items covered by
this specification. Accordingly, the supplier shall give the purchaser adequate
notice of manufacturing schedules and one month’s notice of test schedules.
- Type Tests
- The type shall be carried out according to the latest edition of IEC.
- Any particular unit or units may at purchaser section be chosen for
testing.
Routine Tests
- Each complete panel assembly shall be tested according to the referenced IEC standards.
- All wiring shall be tested with a 2000V megger insulation tester.
SAMPLING
Each complete distribution board assembly shall be testedز.
METHOD OF TEST
Testing shall be carried out in accordance with the latest IEC standards.
ACCEPTANCE AND REJECTION
The supplier shall forward to the purchaser, three copies of the certificate
proving that all tests required have been carried out and also samples &
catalogs of the equipment used.
DELIVERY
PACKING AND TRANSPORT
Equipment shall be delivered ready for service.
GUARANTEE
The supplier guarantee the delivered equipment against manufacturing,
design and material defects for a period as given in the tender documents.
SUBMITTALS
Drawing, calculations, and
catalogs for the specified items of material to be supplied under this
section. Other submittals listed hereunder shall include but not limited to the
following
:

Reference list of all the
components.
-
The arrangement of the AC
sub-distribution boards.
-
Different types of light fittings,
lamps, switches, and sockets.
-
Detailed design and calculations
of the lighting system.
-
Cable routes and cable sizing.
-
Erection drawings.
REFERENCE LIST
The tenderer shall submit a reference list that the proposed equipment
have been in successful operation in an integrated system on three different
substations of same or higher capacity outside the country of the manufacturer and/or
in EEHC network during the last ten years. The experience of manufacturer and
the sub-manufacturer shall be evaluated on the above basis.
