 photocell

Functional diagram of electrical connection of photocell relay with parallel switch in automatic and manual mode.

This diagram shows how to connect a lamp using a photo cell (light sensor) along with a manual switch.

The system allows you to control the light automatically (when there is low ambient light) or manually through the switch.

Components:

1. Photo cell (light sensor):

It has three wires:

black (BLACK): Exit phase towards the lamp.

White (WHITE): neutral.

Red (RED): entry phase (feeding).

2. Parallel switch (double):

Allows to turn the lamp on/off manually, in parallel with the automatic photo cell function.

3. Lamp (Bulb):

Connects between the photocell output cable black and the neutral.

4. Switch (thermomagnetic switch):

Protect the circuit. Receives phase (F) and neutral (N) of the electrical grid.

Functioning:

In automatic mode, the lamp turns on in the evening thanks to the photo cell.

In manual mode, the switch can force the lamp on or off regardless of ambient light.
