Slop -
Drain System
- A slop/drain system complete in all respects
shall be provided comprising an underground slop tank and pumps to receive the
drains from the system and pumps it to the oily water system.
- The slop tank shall be made of concrete as per applicable owner standard.
- Slop tank capacity shall be approx. 15 m3
2x100% (one duty, one standby) vertical pumps
shall be provided to pump out the liquid from the slop tank to the oily water
system.
The pumps shall have level controlled
start/stop to drain out the slop tank automatically and shall have protection
against dry running.
The pumps shall conform to the owner.
The capacity of the pump shall be sufficient to
prevent tank overflow in any operational scenario.
The tank shall at least be provided with a
level gauge, level switches, overflow and drain connections, and a truck-out
connection beside vents, a manhole, and an opening for pump installation.
The pumps shall be provided with check valves,
isolation valves, and a local pressure gauge at the outlet.
The material of the pump shall be suitable to
handle liquid hydrocarbons as well as water.
Strainers shall be provided at the suction to
protect pump internals against damage due to solid foreign matter.
