POWER PLANT
Water
deluge system
Those
systems are related to:
- in automatic mode:
i. main and auxiliary transformers,
ii. cable galleries,
iii. warehouse,
- in manual mode:
i. External part of the shell of crude oil, diesel oil, and main sludge tanks.
Automatic
systems shall also be manually actuatab1e by a trained worker.
The
fuse plug water spray system or sprinkler system of the warehouse shall be such
that after operation only the fuse (sprinkler) needs to be replaced.
Indoor
fire protection of buildings:
Indoor
fire fighting water network with hose reels conveniently located shall be
provided in:
- administration, safety and security buildings,
- workshop,
- warehouse,
- fire water pumping houses,
- Water treatment house.
Portable
extinguishers shall be provided all around the plant.
They
shall be dry powder, CO2, or clean agent type according to the hazard.
A
layout drawing showing the proposed location of all the extinguishers shall be
submitted to the Company/Engineer.
Fire
equipment cabinets;
Fire
fighting tools, accessories, and protective apparatuses shall be provided and
stored:
- in spot fire cabinets,
- or in central cabinets.
The location of which is distributed, at least:
- in fire fighting center,
- in power generation buildings,
- in the workshop,
- in fuel office (driver's reception office)
Mobile
intervention means:
- Four(4)
fire-trucks shall be provided to cover the needs of the whole power plant.
they shall be housed in the fire-fighting center and all capable to be
fed with water from the hydrant network.
- Three
trucks shall be heavy-duty type, equipped with water tank, foam tank, and powder.
- It shall be provided with an additional mobile foam monitor with a foam tank,
which can be connected to a water hydrant for operation.
- The
other trucks shall be light duty type, i.e. equipped as the previous track but
with a smaller water storage tank.
- The
heavy-duty vehicles shall have a diesel engine.
- The light-duty vehicle shall be equipped with a petrol engine.
- In
addition, trucks shall be equipped with ladders, semi-rigid reeled hoses,
extinguishers, firemen protective equipment breathing apparatuses, public
address and telecom systems.
Automatic
shut-off of ventilation, de-energizing, tripping:
- Whatever
the type of detection, followed or not by an automatic actuation of the fire
fighting system, the ventilation or air conditioning system of the building or
room in which fire has been detected shall be automatically shut down and the
safety flaps of ventilation air duct shall be triggered so as to close and
minimize natural draughting effect.
- Automatic
actuation consecutive to fire detection on electrical equipment shall always be
preceded by a de-energizing sequence except as otherwise specified.
- As
well, actuation of the fire fighting system on:
a] gas turbine hot parts,
b] fuel skid blocks,
shall trip the unit.
