FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM FOR OUTDOOR POWER TRANSFORMERS

This specification mainly covers the design, manufacturing, testing, delivery, communication and guarantee for fire fighting systems for outdoor power transformers

Any material not specifically mentioned in this specification or not shown on the drawing but required for proper performance and operation shall be furnished install.

- DEFINITIONS

     Water Spray:

Use of water in a form having a predetermined pattern, particle size, velocity, and density discharged from special nozzles or devices.

    Water filling  pump (Jockey pump)

Vertical pump is used to fill the main water tank.

Filling system shall be  equipped in addition to the pump with gate valves, non-return valves, strainers, and devices for preventing pump dry running.

      Pressurizing Unit

Air pressure over the water inside the tank is maintained by an air compressor with automatic starting. Air vessels, ball valves, safety relief valves, and pressure gauges shall be provided. Pressurizing unit shall be sufficient to extinguish the fire in a time not exceed three minutes

    Pneumatic Remote Control Valve Station

Deluge valves controlled remotely by melting nozzles (sprinklers) installed in an air activator line, self-supported under and above transformers.

Emergency – Test Release Push Buttons

Emergency push buttons shall be provided to activate the water spray system manually and located at the outside of valve station room.

Test release pushbuttons shall be  used to test the system operation and located in transformer area.

      Spraying Cage for Transformers

Self-supporting  pipes around transformers in the shape of rings and shall be provided with cone nozzles.

        Sprinkler

It is a unit for activation water spray system integrated permanently in the pipework that covers the protected area.

Fire the detection system of transformers

Heat detector:

Rate of rising and fixed temperature electrical detectors providing a double knock system in concert with the pneumatical sprinkler invitation system to release the water spray system automatically.
